Contributing to Japanese affiliate companies in Thailand by developing diversified solutions, such as development of special equipment and production technology using 3D solutions and appearance inspections

Ryota Nakamura
Managing Director

To explain YN2-TECH (THAILAND) in one sentence, it is "a company of product development and production technology development that makes full use of 3D data and digital technology."

It is a technology venture company started by a group of friends from Shimizu-ku, Shizuoka city in Shizuoka prefecture in Japan. The motive to start our activities is that “we wanted to support companies that are continually challenged with struggles every day in the evolving Thai market!"

The trigger was the change in the style of manufacturing businesses in Thailand. The Thai manufacturing industry used to function as an assembly plant for automobiles and home appliances. Parts are brought in from Japan, assembled with cheap labor and exported overseas. These business models have supported Japanese affiliate companies' overseas production and industrialization in Thailand.

New role required in the future of Thailand as a development base (R & D / production of prototypes)

In recent years, Thailand has been required to play a role as the leading base for simultaneous launching for global production of R & D and prototype development. Agile development is not possible if R & D for Thai customers is performed remotely from Japan. On the other hand, there are not many companies in Thailand that can prepare their own equipment such as expensive CAD / CAM systems and 3D-related equipment (3D printers, scanners, analysis software).

We understand that there are many difficulties and shortages for R & D and production technology development in Thailand, such as facilities and technical development personnel. We solve these problems for companies that are taking on new challenges locally. All of the partner factories (4 locations) have dedicated production rooms, each creating an environment where the most advanced equipment can be used. We support short delivery times and development with a high degree of difficulty by making full use of 3D scanners, 3D printers, and various software.

We have also established a QC center that can perform quality assurance inspections, and a robot center that manufactures jigs for masking of painting and evaporation. Making full use of articulated robots, we are challenging those with a high degree of difficulty from design to material selection, modeling, and final finishing. We support a wide variety of products and provide stable quality.

Respond to various consultations in Thailand, such as the CMF marketing measure that is increasing year by year

The "material", "color", "texture", and "touch" of the surface are of concerns for everyday products, such as cell phone covers, digital cameras, furniture, and cosmetic packages. We also support "CMF" which is indispensable in the design field of such products. CMF stands for Color, Material, and Finishing. The market size is increasing year by year along with the diversification of values. Our laboratories support this demand for products developed in Thailand from the development and design stages.

Furthermore, we also respond to various consultations. For example, regarding the food machinery business that started operation last year. In collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture, Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, we are working on the problem of food waste in Thailand using a "screw press dehydrator manufactured by Kawaguchi Seiki". A screw inside the cylinder rotates and pushes out the moisture of the contents, dehydrating the contents. This reduces the amount of garbage. The contents after dehydration are used as organic fertilizer for vegetable production in Thailand.

Please consult YN2-TECH for concerns with R & D and production technology development in Thailand

We aim to achieve the same quality and response as in Japan by maximizing the speed and mobility distinctive only overseas and by utilizing relationships with Japanese affiliate and local partner companies. Our policy is to work together with our customers as one, from the development and design stages, not just for production of prototypes and contracted services.

Please consult us for concerns with R & D and production technology development in Thailand.

RYOTA NAKAMURA
Longing for Robocon since junior high school, I entered the National Institute of Technology, Numazu College in Shizuoka. My club activity was the soccer club, which was a day of soccer every day.

Then, I studied "sense of humor" and "mechanical engineering" at a university in Kansai. After graduating, I spent five years doing product designing at an auto parts manufacturer.

Up to the present day, I have been studying the trading business of machineries at Yamazen Co., Ltd. to take over the family business. I will do my best in Thailand to contribute to the company which is a hybrid style of product design, equipment design and trading.

The specialties of the company are 3D related work, material handling, air equipment and image inspection related to machine tools. Motto: "I'll do anything, so use me !!"
