With the recent expansion of demand for EVs, the development and manufacture of gears for EVs in addition to gasoline-powered vehicles is expected to increase in Thailand. In order to meet the growing demand for these gear tests, Accretech (Thailand) Co., Ltd. is recommending the use of gear measurement functions on a CMM. In this article, we will introduce the lineup of CMMs that we can propose and the features of each.

Easier and more accurate measurement with rotary table
Gear testing is commonly conducted using dedicated gear testing machines. However, due to their high cost and limited utilization for gear measurement purposes, the adoption of gear testing machines may be perceived as having a high barrier to install by many. Therefore, we are actively proposing the expansion of the gear testing function as an option for CMMs. In this article, we would like to introduce two models that are selling well in Thailand for gear testing.
■ XYZAX AXCEL RDS
*Without rotary table
This is a scanning measurement model of the XYZAX AXCEL series. It achieves high accuracy, high-speed drive, and extended temperature guarantee range, and supports a variety of probe system selections and a wide range of applications. Although a rotary table cannot be added as an option, it can be used to measure hypoid gears, bevel gears, cylindrical gears, etc.

■ ZEISS DuraMax® (Carl Zeiss)
Rotary table mountable
This scanning-type 3D coordinate measuring machine is compact, yet incorporates Carl Zeiss' proprietary technologies. It is equipped with a scanning measurement function as standard and adopts a body structure that is not easily affected by temperature changes. The optional rotary table enables measurement of gears with complex shapes. It can measure almost all shapes of gears, including screw rotors, worm gears, hypoid gears, bevel gears, and cylindrical gears. For customers who require even higher precision gear measurement, we offer machines such as PRISMO (rotary table mountable) / CONTURA (rotary table mountable).
