Accretech (Thailand) participated in METALEX 2025 for the first time in six years, showcasing a wide range of products equipped with the latest functions that contribute to the automation and labor savings of measurement processes. All of the exhibited products focus on automating tasks that are time-consuming and burdensome at production sites, thereby simultaneously reducing operator workload and measurement errors. In addition, even under automation, Tokyo Seimitsu’s distinctive strength lies in its ability to ensure measurement accuracy without compromise.

This article introduces solutions aimed at significantly reducing the manual workload inherent in measurement operations.

【Recommended Labor-Saving Solutions】

Products (Solutions)Key PointsChallenges Addressed
①PULCOM W10 × FANUC Collaborative Robot × SURFCOM NEX Automation from Measurement to Quality ControlReduces manual workpiece handling and enables unattended measurement management.
②SURFCOM NEX (DX2/SD2)-T: Surface Roughness and Contour Measuring SystemAutomatic Drive Unit Tilting (X-Axis)Eliminates manual angle adjustment and enables automatic measurement at multiple points.
③SURFCOM TOUCH Series: Surface Roughness Measuring System Barcode-Based OperationPrevents errors in mode switching and parameter settings, with no specialized expertise required.
④RONDCOM NEX: Roundness and Cylindricity Measuring System Automatic XY-Axis StageEliminates setup changes for multi-point measurement, enabling labor savings and improved efficiency.
⑤ SBS Auto-Balance System (TOSEI) Enables reproducible grinding wheel adjustment without requiring operator skill.Reduces grinding wheel changeover time and enables easy micron-level balance adjustment.

① PULCOM W10 × FANUC Collaborative Robot × SURFCOM NEX Eliminates the need for operators to remain stationed in front of the measuring system.

The collaborative robot picks up the workpiece and automatically sets it on the SURFCOM NEX for measurement. Measurement control is managed by the PULCOM W10—an instruction and control unit compatible with both in-process and post-process operations—to verify whether the workpiece meets specified quality standards. This demonstration solution enables one-stop automation of measurement, transfer, and quality control.

② SURFCOM NEX (DX2/SD2)-T: Surface Roughness and Contour Measuring System No manual angle adjustment required—efficient multi-directional measurement at the push of a button.

The latest model of the SURFCOM NEX is equipped with an automatic drive unit tilting function (±45°), further meeting the growing demand for automation and labor-saving solutions. By automatically tilting the detector along the X-axis, manual workpiece angle adjustment is no longer required. This enables fully automatic, continuous multi-point measurement of surface roughness as well as profiles such as angles and R (radii) in a single sequence. A key feature of Tokyo Seimitsu is that measurement accuracy is guaranteed even when the drive unit is tilted. The system not only reduces operator workload but also contributes to improved measurement accuracy.

▲ Accuracy guaranteed even in the tilted position

▲ Angle changes can be integrated into CNC programs (±45° automatic drive unit tilting)

③ SURFCOM TOUCH Series: Surface Roughness Measuring Systems Barcode-Compatible Option. No specialized knowledge required—ideal for production sites aiming for zero measurement errors.

This new function allows operators to switch measurement and analysis conditions, start and stop measurements, output data, and input workpiece and operator names simply by scanning barcodes. By eliminating the need for manual condition entry, it significantly reduces setup errors and operation time. Regardless of operator skill level, measurements can be performed under the same conditions and procedures. In addition, records of who measured which workpiece are retained, contributing not only to improved inspection efficiency but also to enhanced quality traceability.

▲ Operators only need to scan barcodes and change workpieces. Standard support for 20 languages worldwide.

④ RONDCOM NEX – Automatic XY-Axis Stage: Roundness and Cylindricity Measuring System Directly contributes to labor savings in high-mix, high-volume workpiece measurement.

By automatically sliding the measurement plate in the X and Y directions, multiple measurement points—or multiple workpieces—can be measured continuously without changing the setup. This enables labor-saving in multi-point measurement and reduces measurement time. Simply equipping the measuring system with an automatic XY-axis stage enables not only the evaluation of geometric tolerances such as roundness and cylindricity, but also the integration of a roughness detector. This allows multiple evaluation items—including surface roughness and lead/twist—to be measured automatically in a single setup. In addition, Accretech (Thailand) can design and manufacture dedicated jigs tailored to each individual workpiece.

▲ The automatic XY-axis stage is easy to attach and detach, making it suitable for additional installation.

⑤ SBS Auto-Balancer: Grinding Wheel Balancing System

The TOSEI SBS Balancer is a grinding wheel balancing system designed to enhance machining accuracy and repeatability in grinding processes while reducing overall cycle time. It detects and compensates for vibrations caused by wheel imbalance. Wheel replacement is typically said to take about one hour; however, with the SBS Balancer, this process can be reduced to just a few minutes. Its one-touch operation makes it easy for any operator to use, while automatic angle calculation enables high-precision grinding performance. In addition, the system continuously monitors vibration and wheel wear, contributing to improved product quality and reduced operating costs.

At this exhibition, we presented a wide range of solutions that steadily reduce tasks long regarded on the shop floor as time-consuming and burdensome. Processes that previously depended heavily on operator skill have been significantly shifted to system-based operations, directly resulting in fewer operational errors and shorter measurement times. In addition, these solutions leverage a unique strength of Tokyo Seimitsu: the ability to maintain guaranteed accuracy even under automated operation. Through continued enhancement of a broad range of functions, we will continue to move forward toward greater automation of measurement processes.
