In this article, we introduce the features and advantages of the new Trombone-Type” Sanitary Rotary Valve , which significantly enhances cleanability and ease of maintenance—areas where conventional rotary valves struggle.
The newly developed trombone-style rotary valve features a unique mechanism that allows the rotor to be slid forward and backward and pulled out just like a trombone. This greatly simplifies equipment disassembly and internal cleaning, reducing maintenance time dramatically. Even for large-diameter models of 250A and above, the rotor can be removed and cleaned with minimal effort—making it particularly effective in improving efficiency on large-scale production lines. This product is an original development by Aisin Sangyo, designed directly in response to customer feedback and on-site challenges.
【Features of the “Trombone-Type” Sanitary Rotary Valve】 This model features “Gemini Treatment,” a special blasting surface technology uniquely developed by Fuji Blastech (Thailand). Unlike mirror polishing, the process forms microscopic surface textures that reduce contact area and friction between powder and metal surfaces.
Benefits: Significantly reduces powder adhesion and clogging, improves flowability (slip characteristics), shortens cleaning time and reduces operator workload. Aisin Sangyo (Thailand) provides full local support—from product design and manufacturing to on-site maintenance. We offer periodic maintenance and inspection services tailored to each plant’s operating conditions, ensuring stable and continuous production.
Looking forward, we are also pursuing development for larger-scale production facilities, automated cleaning mechanisms, higher hygiene and productivity standards.

▲ The rotor can be slid out like a trombone for easy extraction and cleaning.
・Easy Maintenance
Simply open the cover and pull out the rotor—rapid disassembly and cleaning.
・High Sanitary Performance
Rotor and shaft are removed together, allowing complete internal cleaning and reducing contamination risk.
・Safe & Labor-Saving Operation
Non-contact removal mechanism allows safe work even with small teams or female operators.
・Simple Operation
Only four bolts on the cover need to be removed; then pull the handle to extract.
・High Precision Reassembly
Male-female hexagonal structure ensures accurate rotor alignment and stable operation.
・Flexible Customization
Supports standard 150A–300A flanges, square/special flanges, blow-through type, and custom specifications.

▲ The rotor can be pulled directly from the casing for tool-free cleaning in a short time.

▲ Safe and easy maintenance even for a small workforce or female operators.

▲ The trombone mechanism can also be applied to blow-through type sanitary rotary valves.
Contamination-Free Operation for Safety and Reliability
Powder Adhesion Prevented with Gemini Treatment
This is especially effective for powders with high adhesion, such as tapioca starch. In fact, 42 units of the trombone-type sanitary rotary valve with Gemini treatment have been installed across tapioca processing facilities in Thailand, and have been highly evaluated for their performance and usability.
