Asia Maintenance (AMA) provides maintenance and engineering services for machinery and equipment in Thailand. In addition, AMA offers local maintenance support for Japanese machinery and tool manufacturers without a presence in Thailand and serves as a manufacturer-authorized maintenance service provider.

This article presents collaborative initiatives with four Japanese manufacturers that have entrusted AMA with after-sales maintenance, repair, and sales operations in Thailand.

Four Manufacturers Specializing in Tools and Peripheral Equipment for Machine Tools

■ Futamura Machines & Tools | Rolling Centers (Rotary Centers)

Founded in 1946, the company is a long-established manufacturer of precision machine tools. Its core products are rotary centers for machine tools, marketed under the well-known “EAGLE STAR” brand, and are widely used at manufacturing sites for industrial products such as automotive components. In addition to standard models, the company also offers custom-made products and is highly regarded by customers in Japan and abroad.

What is a Rotary Center?
A rotary center is a holding tool used in machine tools, primarily to support long workpieces during machining. During turning or grinding operations, the tip rotates to support the center of the workpiece, preventing runout and deflection and thereby improving machining accuracy. The center point used for tailstock support has a conical shape with a 60-degree angle, and the shank is designed with a tapered form.

Our collaboration with the company dates back to AMA’s founding, and AMA is the sole official repair partner for Futamura Machines & Tools products outside Japan. AMA has extensive repair experience and technical expertise in Thailand.

■ TSUDAKOMA Corp. | NC Rotary Tables

The company’s flagship NC rotary tables boast the largest market share in Japan and are distinguished by a wide range of models, including those equipped with the proprietary BallDrive® drive system.

■ Kanto Seiki | Automatic Fluid Temperature Controller “Oilmatic”

Founded in 1961, the company is a specialized manufacturer of fluid (oil) temperature control technology. Its flagship product, “OIL MATIC,” is a dedicated unit that precisely and rapidly controls the temperature of various coolants used in machine tools and industrial machinery. By suppressing thermal displacement in machines, it enables high-precision machining of workpieces.

In addition to Oilmatic, the company offers a range of products tailored to specific applications, including “Icematic,” an energy-efficient ultra-low-temperature automatic temperature controller capable of cooling down to −80°C; “Purematic,” an automatic fluid temperature controller designed for applications using water or purified water as a heat-transfer medium; and “Moldmatic,” which precisely controls the temperature of heat-transfer media (oil or water) used in injection molding and press molds for plastics and rubber.

■ Kato Mfg. | Tapping Holders / Deburring Holders

Founded in 1918, the company is a specialized tool manufacturer focused on improving efficiency and accuracy in tapping and deburring operations. Its flagship products are tappers featuring a unique internal structure that is rare even on a global scale. As the first manufacturer in Japan to begin producing tappers, the company has a long history and enjoys strong support from a wide range of users.

The company also provides deburring holders, addressing the growing demand for automated deburring solutions.

Manufacturer-Approved, High-Quality Engineering Expertise at AMA

For all of the manufacturers mentioned above, AMA’s engineers receive direct technical training and guidance from the manufacturers and are officially authorized as maintenance collaboration partners in Thailand. By providing after-sales services at a quality level equivalent to that of the manufacturers, AMA enables customers to use products from manufacturers without a local presence in Thailand with confidence.

At present, these initiatives are mainly focused on the Thai market; however, there are plans to expand the services to other Southeast Asian countries beyond Thailand in the future.
