Nihon Denkei Thailand is selling many kinds of measuring instruments and test equipment as well as EMIC products in Thailand.

■Could you introduce us about Nihon Denkei Thailand?

Kano:
Nihon Denkei Co., Ltd. is a trading company who has been handling electronic measuring instruments and many kinds of test equipment since the company was established in 1950. Thai subsidiary is expanding the business, making use of the experience and achievements in Japan. We do not only sell the equipment, but we also provide the information and propose to the customers, seeing how Thai economy will change in the future.

We mainly deal with automobile, electronic parts and electric equipment-related companies. We think that the needs of vibration tests will further increase because the production of hybrid vehicle, plug-in hybrid vehicle and electric cars will expand in Thailand in the future.

Shimizu:
We held a joint seminar in autumn 2018, gathering people from Asian countries such as Vietnam and Philippines. Nihon Denkei obtained the permission from Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (Permission for Service Transactions) in many Southeast Asian countries, so we can study together at ease. There is no other company who obtained the permission in such many countries.

EMIC and Nihon Denkei cooperate in Thailand and meet the needs of vibration tests. “Partner with a strong bond”

■Could you tell me how two of you met?

Kano:
I was transferred to Thailand on 1 December 2016 and 2 days later I went to greet Mr. Shimizu for the first time. From that time, I often talk with him. When I still didn’t know anything, he taught me how to communicate with Thai people and about Thai culture.

Shimizu:
I was waiting for Mr. Kano who is a capable salesman to come to Thailand!
Two companies have a close relationship in both Japan and Thailand and we are thinking that Nihon Denkei is a reassuring partner for our company. And also both companies have been promoting communication between Thai staffs.

■Is there any impressive story while both companies were working in cooperation?

Kano:
Last autumn, we received an inquiry about vibration test equipment from one motorcycle parts manufacturer. Especially this case was impressive for me.

Shimizu:
On the first visit, they have almost decided to use other company. They didn’t listen to us seriously and I and a salesman from Nihon Denkei visited them many times. It has been inferior all the time, but the day to make the final decision came and we brought the final quotation on that day.
Then they changed their mind!
As a result, we received the order!
Moreover, we received the additional order last month!

The strength of Thai EMIC from the viewpoint of Nihon Denkei who has strong network.

Kano:
There are not many manufacturers who think about the customer’s budget and work hard together with trading companies like EMIC. We can build a trusting relationship with customers by closely working in cooperation.
In addition, Mr. Shimizu used to be an engineer. He can answer the detailed technical questions immediately, so the customer can understand deeply.

Shimizu:
When I just started sales, I didn’t even know how to talk (Haha)

Kano:
Mr. Shimizu is strong in the technical aspect. We will share the information with Thai staffs in EMIC and keep responding the customer’s request in the future.

The conversation was going on with jokes.
The good relationship and the strong bonds of two companies connect to the customer’s trust.
