With the delivery of "FILSTAR" to Toyota Motor Company, the world's leading automaker, having been realized, our company was able to accomplish soaring growth. Many inquiries came from more manufacturing sites than just automobile manufacturers, but also sites such as machine manufacturers which require filtration and water use on manufacturing lines.
The sales of "FILSTAR" exceeded that of parts processing, which was our main business, and at that time, I took over the position of president from my father. It was about ten years ago.
My father was originally a craftsman. Now, he is returning to his position as a craftsman and doing his best.
When I was young, I was opposed to my father. Every day, my father worked full of oil from morning to night.
To tell the truth, I didn't like such an image. But he is my real father. After returning home when I was an adult and entering the company, I gradually came to feel something because I was touching the "thought" of my father and other craftsmen for the manufacturing.
I began to feel that Japan's rapid economic growth was created by these craftsmen. Eventually, I began to wonder if it would be possible to brand the artisans' feelings. The current company name, "industria" was invented by me at this time. It was the first step toward branding today.
For a craftsman who never likes showy things and who works quietly, compromises are a humiliation and an enemy of his own work. Until you are convinced of something that is unconvincing, you must solve it within the day. Is what you want white or black? The answer is very simple. I wanted to reflect these "thoughts" in the corporate color. It is simply "industria" in black on a white background. This is the idea behind the company logo.
Based on the guidelines of the Japanese government (METI), industria Corporation is currently engaged in business activities specializing only in prototyping, development, and innovating. We do not have a production plant, but we entrust it to six partner factories to continue production. We plan to increase the number of contracted factories if the number of orders increases.
This is a strategic decision. When sales went down by half in the immediate aftermath of Lehman's shock, the overseas relocation of our production base was in my mind. If the cost of labor is reduced, the company's profit increases.
But I didn't do that. This is because we believe that Japanese quality and the "Made in Japan" brand should be preserved to the very end.
On the other hand, we intend to actively work to establish sales bases overseas.
Thousands of Japanese manufacturers have already entered overseas markets, and we believe it is our responsibility to supply "FILSTAR" in Japan and the rest of the world. We carefully considered our destinations, including China, Korea, Europe, and Southeast Asian countries, and chose Thailand in 2014.
In Thailand, where many Japanese companies are entering the market, the Japanese business culture is deeply rooted, and local payment is also the most advanced. First, I would like to achieve results in this kind of solid market. We will also strive to train local engineers to this end.
