DMG Mori Seiki (Thailand), the Thai subsidiary of Japan’s leading machine tool manufacturer DMG MORI, provides sales and after-sales maintenance services for a wide range of machine tools in Thailand.
In September last year, DMG MORI launched its new turning center, the “NLX2500 2nd Generation.” In response, Kitagawa developed dedicated power chucks — the “HGGH85-254” and “HGGH83-210” — specifically designed for this model.
This article introduces the features of a newly developed power chuck specifically designed for DMG MORI’s “NLX2500|700” turning center, which enables the machining of large-diameter components thanks to its 105 mm through-hole.
This next-generation CNC turning center was developed to deliver high-precision cutting and exceptional machining efficiency. It is ideally suited for processing complex parts across various industries—including large components and high-precision parts used in sectors such as automotive manufacturing.
Key Features of the NLX2500|700 Gen2 Turning Center
• High Precision
With a stable operating system, the machine delivers accurate cutting performance for large workpieces and hard-to-machine materials. Its wide working range further supports the processing of oversized components.
• DMG MORI’s Proprietary Technology
Equipped with CTI (Cellular Tool Interface) technology, it enables efficient tool connection and high-speed cutting.
• Easy Control and Operation
The proprietary CELOS control system by DMG MORI ensures intuitive operation and simplified machine control. It also supports seamless integration with digital and IoT platforms, enabling smooth process management and comprehensive traceability of machining results.
• Simultaneous Multi-Tool Operation
The machine allows multiple tools to operate simultaneously. By consolidating various machining processes into a single setup, it significantly reduces tool change time and increases production flexibility.

The “HGGH83-210” is a derivative of the BR08 model, featuring a through-hole diameter of Ø81 mm and an 8-inch outer diameter—equivalent to the BR10 chuck.
The “HGGH85-254,” on the other hand, offers a through-hole diameter of Ø106 mm and a 10-inch outer diameter, making it comparable to the BR12.
These newly developed chucks are specifically designed for DMG MORI’s next-generation turning centers, enabling the machining of larger and longer workpieces. Even after the jaws are removed and reattached, they maintain consistently high precision. Additionally, both models are compatible with the BR Series' dedicated T-Nut Plus system.
