Thai NS Solutions Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Thai NS”) celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2023. As a Japanese-affiliated system vendor founded by former IT users, the company has built strong trust and a proven track record among Japanese companies operating in Thailand. In this article, we speak with Managing Director Suzuki and General Manager Ishii about the company’s strengths and its future outlook.
The Nippon Steel Solutions Group has set forth the vision of becoming a “First DX Partner.” This vision represents the goal of being the very first IT partner that customers turn to when they face challenges—growing together with them as DX initiatives advance globally.
In Thailand, Japanese companies often encounter significant barriers and gaps when implementing and deploying systems. Practices that are taken for granted in Japan do not always apply, and many companies have had difficult experiences as a result. For nearly a decade, Thai NS has supported Japanese companies in Thailand as a trusted go-to partner in such situations. Out of its current workforce of 164 employees, approximately 120 are engineers, and about 90% of them are Thai engineers. The growth of these Thai engineers forms the core of the company’s service quality.
“Over the past 10 years, our top priority has been talent development. Engineers are the key to system development—not only in terms of technical expertise and experience, but also in understanding Japanese-style project management and maintaining close, attentive communication with customers. Based on our experience during the COVID period, we are focusing on developing talent so that Thai engineers can lead projects and deliver services at the level expected by Japanese companies, while minimizing Japanese involvement. From last fiscal year, we have also begun appointing Thai staff to executive positions.”

<Strengths of Thai NS Solutions Co., Ltd.>
・Thai staff are well accustomed to Japanese-style project management and execution
・Services are delivered at a level fully comparable to expectations of Japanese customers
・Japanese staff participate in all projects, providing oversight from a holistic perspective
“In Thailand, we feel that many sites hesitate to pursue transformation due to legacy systems already in place. These older systems often lack documentation such as business and system flows, specifications, or modification histories. Replacing such systems while leveraging existing mechanisms—without disrupting operations—requires significant effort from both the customer and the system vendor. One of our strengths is our extensive experience handling exactly these types of projects.” (Mr. Ishii, General Manager)

In December 2022, Thai NS announced a capital and business alliance with Round Two Solutions (“Round2”), a Thailand-based local IT solution provider. Round2 is an authorized distributor of SAP—the world’s No.1 ERP package by market share—in Thailand and a system integrator (SIer) with extensive SAP implementation experience in the Thai market. Through this partnership, Thai NS can now offer SAP solutions, enabling the company to meet an even wider range of customer needs. While proposals will initially be developed in collaboration with Round2, Thai NS is simultaneously working on cultivating in-house SAP specialist engineers.
In fiscal year 2022, Thai NS achieved its highest profits since its founding. By directly addressing growing demand for DX promotion, factory digitalization, and automation in Thailand, the company has continued to expand its business.
“In Thailand’s manufacturing sector, IT demand will continue to grow. However, IT is no longer limited to PCs and software—it now requires solutions that integrate a wide range of devices and tools, such as robots, sensors, 5G networks, electronic tags (RFID), and AI.
We often hear the term ‘Japanese quality,’ but Japanese methods are not always the only correct approach. Our goal is to establish ‘Thai NS Quality,’ which combines the strengths of Japanese practices with approaches that work well on Thai production sites and incorporate valuable perspectives from Thai professionals. Going forward, we will continue to focus on changing customer needs and IT trends while strengthening trust-based relationships with our customers.” (Mr. Suzuki, Managing Director)
