Thai NS Solutions Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Thai NS”) has long provided extensive support—primarily to Japanese-affiliated companies in Thailand—leveraging its strengths in IT infrastructure and cybersecurity. In response to the growing risk of cyberattacks in recent years, Thai NS approached ALSOK Thai Security Services Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “ALSOK”), a company with overwhelming trust and a strong customer base in the security industry, to begin a strategic collaboration.

Behind this partnership lies the rapidly increasing threat of cyberattacks in Thailand. As a core hub of manufacturing networks in Southeast Asia, Thailand is an attractive target for hackers. Moreover, across Southeast Asia as a whole, security frameworks are still not fully mature, and risks are expected to continue rising. According to a February 19, 2025 article in the Bangkok Post, citing comments from Check Point, the average number of cyberattacks per organization per week is 1,843 globally, compared to a much higher 3,180 attacks in Thailand.

By combining Thai NS’s cybersecurity expertise with ALSOK’s security know-how and extensive customer network, the two companies aim to deliver an “integrated security service” that fuses physical and cyber protection—creating new value in the Thai market.

To discuss the significance of this collaboration and its future outlook, a dialogue was held between Mr. Bamba, President of ALSOK Thailand, and Mr. Watanabe, President of Thai NS.

— What is the purpose of this partnership?

Mr. Bamba:
The ALSOK Group is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. At this milestone, we have redefined our business domain as “delivering safety and peace of mind to customers and society by addressing diverse risks,” and are strengthening our ability to respond to increasingly complex threats. In addition to physical security, expanding into cybersecurity was something we strongly desired. Thai NS’s business domain aligns perfectly with our vision, which led to this partnership.

Mr. Watanabe:
Based on our “Vision 2030,” we are promoting asset-based and service-based approaches to deliver sustainable value, with IT security positioned as a core area of our business. Through ALSOK Thailand’s extensive customer network, we wanted to bring our cybersecurity services to a broader range of companies. Coincidentally, from fiscal year 2025, we were also looking to expand beyond the Nippon Steel Group, making this truly an ideal partnership.

— What are the key features and strengths of Thai NS’s services?

Mr. Watanabe:
We provide cybersecurity services optimized specifically for overseas sites of Japanese companies. Many such sites face challenges in securing sufficient in-house IT personnel. For these companies, we offer one-stop support—from current-state assessments and system implementation to operations and countermeasures—while maintaining flexibility based on company size and business type. Through ALSOK’s customer base, we also aim to expand beyond Japanese companies to Thai local enterprises.

— Why did Thai NS choose ALSOK as its partner?

Mr. Watanabe:
In addition to ALSOK’s strong customer base in Thailand, we deeply resonated with the company’s philosophy and vision. Furthermore, Mr. Bamba’s personality left a strong impression on me. I felt confident that we could build a relationship of trust, which ultimately led us to decide on this collaboration.

— What is the significance of offering cybersecurity in addition to ALSOK’s security services?

Mr. Bamba:
Until now, our business has focused primarily on so-called “physical security,” such as on-site security personnel and the design and installation of security equipment. However, as a company that delivers safety and peace of mind, the ability to address cyber risks is indispensable. To enter the cybersecurity field, we needed a trustworthy partner whose services we could confidently recommend to our customers. We determined that Thai NS’s services meet that standard without hesitation.

— What are your expectations for future collaboration?

Mr. Bamba:
We want to go beyond simply offering products and place greater emphasis on awareness-raising activities. In fact, immediately after an article was published by NNA, we received many inquiries, and we can feel that interest within the industry is steadily growing.

Mr. Watanabe:
Cybersecurity is a core business area for us as well. We will continue to optimize our solutions in line with technological advancements. While Thai NS has traditionally focused on the Nippon Steel Group, this collaboration with ALSOK marks a starting point for expanding our efforts to other corporate groups and local companies.
