RFID-based solutions for managing objects are attracting attention in place of bar codes and QR codes.

We have teamed up with SATO AUTO-ID (THAILAND) CO., LTD. (Hereinafter, Sato Auto) and Freewill-Mars Tohken Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, Mars Tohken), which are leading companies in this technology, to develop a solution for more convenient RFID operation.

RFID gates can read a large number of tags in an instant.

The jointly developed RFID gate consists of the technologies of the following three companies.

● SATO AUTO-ID / RFID tag and management system of read result
● Freewill-Mars Tohken / Contact-less authentication (antenna) technology
● PATLITE / LED indicator light that glows in conjunction with an RFID system (with sound and voice)

Equipped with the Patlite’s signal lights, it has become easier for operators to understand at a glance, such as "Is something going in and out normally?" and "Has an error occurred?"

If there are not enough goods: Lights up in red

Other errors (e.g. too many goods): Lights up in orange

The greatest benefit of RFID implementation is time savings and error prevention

1. Reduction of time and effort required to read tags
Compared to using a bar code reader to scan and read each good one by one, the RFID system can read a large number of goods at once. This time, we demonstrated the system with 10 individual goods, but as the number increases to 100, 1,000, etc., the time and effort required to read the tags will increase, so significant implementation benefits are expected.

2. Prevention of human error
When scanning items one by one by hand, work errors and counting mistakes may occur. There is a possibility that the goods will be received and delivered without noticing the mistake. In addition, the system can remotely notify the person in charge who is not at the site on the progress of the work by means of a signal light, thereby realizing double-checking.

3. Easy for operators to understand
The color of the light and the sound of the signal light are used to notify of the results, making it easy to understand visually and prevent mistakes. The network signal lights can also be installed in remote locations such as offices to notify about the status of incoming and outgoing goods at the site.

Although the demonstration was conducted assuming a warehouse this time, RFID gates can be expected to play an active role in various "places where things come and go".

Application examples:logistics industry, warehousing of various materials, management of deliveries from suppliers, inventory management of items such as automobile parts and electronic parts, and improved traceability

Three Japanese companies combine their technical capabilities in Thailand

We are focusing on RFID technology, which is evolving as we develop easier-to-understand and more convenient solutions with various companies with advanced technology. The companies that have jointly developed RFID gates in Thailand this time are leading companies in this field that have cultivated advanced technologies in Japan.

RFID gates are optimally designed according to the features and size of the goods to be tagged. With proper layout design, it can function as a system that accurately notifies operators and remotely alerts the site supervisor to reduce work errors. In the future, we will continue topropose more advanced systems like this solution that fit the site where they are used.

Please consult us if you have issues in places where goods come and go, such as warehouses and material storage areas.
