"Barriquan" realizes automation of deburring work by machining centers, robots, etc. It was fully remodeled in April 2022, and its functions and usability have been greatly improved. This article introduces the updated functions and features.

1. Drastically shortens teaching time
The floating mechanism acts as a damper, allowing the dummy cutter to contact the workpiece for teaching. Since the ambiguous trajectory of the robot can be absorbed, it is possible to absorb the deviation between the trajectory of robot teaching and automatic operation, preventing over-cutting of the workpiece and leaving of burrs.
2. A small robot becomes a machining equipment!
Compared to rigid machining, the reaction force is smaller, enabling deburring by a light, portable, small robot. It also prevents breakage of cutting tools and small stoppages due to overload alarms.
3. Uniform finish
Floating machining allows uniform deburring because the tool follows the workpiece with a constant pressure.
4. One-touch mechanism contributes to reduction of working hours!
The tip (floater) that holds the tool is a one-touch mechanism. Various cutting tools can be easily exchanged, reducing the time required to set conditions for selecting cutting tools, determining rotation speed and feed rate, and so on. External setup is possible, reducing the time required to change tools.
Maintenance is easy, and with proper care, the product can be used for a long time.
What tools are suitable for floating machining?
◎Cutter: A conical carbide rotary bar with a 90° angle at the tip is recommended!
Use of a sharp-angled cutter creates a force that prevents floating and shortens tool life.
◎Cutter: The more blades, the better
A cutter with a large number of blades are suitable for floating machining. If the number of blades is small, the finished surface will be poor.
