Introducing the new product “BRQ-EL01” from the BARRIQUAN Series that enables complex floating such as horizontal and diagonal, rather than the conventional vertical floating. The series has solved various issues related to deburring by using floating machining technology. Introducing the “BRQ-EL01”, which is equipped with a tilting floating mechanism for deburring die-cast parts, that has been difficult with conventional vertical floating mechanisms.

Tilting BARRIQUAN solves the following challenges in die-cast deburring automation!
✔︎ Leaving behind burrs
✔ Overworking on the workpiece
✔ High-level teaching requirements

Automating the role of human intuition and knack akin to the autonomous nervous system

The floating mechanism acts like an autonomous nervous system, so to speak, working in areas that are unrecognizable to humans. Even if the robot’s trajectory is complicated and the feed rate varies, or if there are variations in the shape and dimensions of the workpiece or if there is a mounting error, it absorbs the differences in how cutting tools make contact and realizes deburring without program correction.

A tilting floating mechanism that can move freely in the radial direction through 360 degrees

The tilting floating mechanism enables machining with the blade maintaining a constant load to follow the shape of the workpiece, and even for complex shapes with many curves, which is common in forged parts, the blade follows the shape without being too far apart, and achieving high-speed deburring. Furthermore, the tilting floating mechanism eliminates the need for program correction for variations in shape dimensions, and stable quality can be maintained without overworking or leaving behind any burrs.

▲ Freely movable in the 360° radial direction, and the tool follows the workpiece

Since the tool is tilted to follow the workpiece, it is better at removing protrusions and burrs that occur on the "surface" than on the edge of the workpiece. Suitable for parting line removal of aluminum die-casting.

Dedicated spindle motor for deburring that is compatible with radial loads and intermittent machining

Deburring by tilting floating is used in harsh environments where loads are applied intermittently from the radial direction. Adopting a dedicated spindle motor enables it to withstand long periods of high loads.

Maximizing the effect of tilting floating
Proposing "dedicated blades" suitable for the customer's burrs and shapes

To maximize the effect of tilting floating, we offer several types of dedicated tilting floating blades. These blades have different cutting characteristics, and it is possible to select and propose the most suitable one according to the burr and shape. As the result, high-quality deburring suitable for the base metal can be achieved.
