Resin Used as an Insulating Material – Characteristics of Epoxy Glass
Epoxy glass is a laminated material made by impregnating glass fibers with epoxy resin and thermally curing them. It offers high mechanical strength, excellent heat resistance, and superior electrical insulation properties. Common grades include G10 and FR-4. The FR-4 grade is also offered in a highly flame-retardant version compliant with the UL94 V-0 standard, a U.S. flammability rating.
While the standard color is green (jade green), other color options such as black are available upon request.
This epoxy glass is widely used in applications where insulation, dimensional accuracy, and heat resistance are essential—such as electronic components, printed circuit boards, and internal parts of industrial equipment. It offers excellent resistance to warping and allows for high-precision machining, even with thin sheets.
