Botany Petcare Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Botany Petcare"), a pet food manufacturer in Thailand, produces and sells dog food and cat food for both domestic and international markets. In addition to its own brand products such as "MOW WOW", "KATTY BOSS", and "BOK WOW", the company also engages in OEM production for overseas countries such as Japan, Malaysia, Russia, Oman, and Saudi Arabia.

At Botany Petcare, pet food is manufactured using carefully selected organic ingredients under strict hygiene control. The company also pays meticulous attention to product management until the products reach customers, and UPR pallets play a crucial role in the product management operations in the company's warehouse.

In this article, we interviewed Ms. Jirapinya, Manager of the company's Warehousing and Materials Division, about the background of implementing the UPR Pallet rental service and the benefits she has experienced.

Adopting Durable and Convenient Plastic Pallets

Previously, Botany Petcare used rubber pallets for warehouse product management but faced the following issues.

▲ The soft texture of rubber pallets caused them to warp and dent when holding around one ton of products for extended periods, leading to deformation.
▲ Stacking the pallets on top of each other resulted in distortion.
▲ When using the forklift, the pallets sagged, hindering the loading operations.

The company　initially adopted rubber pallets in the form of purchases. However, as the production volume increased, the frequency of pallet use also rose, revealing noticeable deterioration in pallet quality. They could no longer meet the warehouse’s operational needs.

Criteria for pallet selection: Size, plastic material, and a load capacity of 1 ton or more ⇒ Based on these criteria, Type 14 plastic pallets were adopted.

Calculating the appropriate number of pallets to ensure efficient warehouse operations

Botany Petcare learned about UPR Pallet Rental Service through its website and has been utilizing the service for over two years. Ms. Jirapinya evaluates the services as follows:

■ Product Quality
The durable and convenient UPR pallets have been extremely beneficial for product management in our warehouse. We opted for Type 14 pallets, but the wide range of sizes available is also appealing. We plan to expand our use of these pallets in the future. So far, we have not encountered any issues during use, and operations with forklifts have been smooth.

Considering Additional Pallet Adoption in the Future

The company has evaluated UPR pallets and services and intends to incorporate additional pallets sized at 1,000L x 1,200W (mm) alongside the existing ones.

"The Type 14 pallets we use can be utilized on both sides, ensuring that even when stacked, the legs of the pallets do not press on the products. This prevents any risk of pallet or product damage and ensures the safe storage of our goods.
