He was transferred to the Laem Chabang branch of UPR Thailand as a branch manager in April 2017, and was later appointed to be MD in September 2018. Before that, he was in the sales team taking care of the Kanto area in UPR’s Tokyo Head Office. “An overseas assignment was my wish for a long time, and I was asking to go overseas every time I met the president.”

For example, when the products are delivered from the factory or the goods are carried to a supermarket or retail shop, do you know what is used in common? In Japan the working population is decreasing because of the decreasing birthrate and aging population. The manpower shortage makes it necessary to improve the working environment and its systematization is expanding. The automation, manpower savings and effort to effectively use resources has been undertaken in various industries and sites.

On the other hand, there are many labor-intensive sites in South East Asia, and the disposable “Culture” is still found. Thailand is industrializing relatively quickly, but there are many manufacturing sites and retail sites which rely on manpower, even though a decreasing birthrate and an aging population is continuing.

UPR Thailand is considering ways to meet the rising needs of automation and productivity improvement in Thailand through providing pallet rentals, which hardly anyone else in Thailand has begun to do, and “chance an investment to look into the future,” Mr. Sasaki MD said. In the near future, I think Thailand will follow the same path as Japan.

UPR products are used in a wide range of industries, such as automobile, home electric appliance, large consumer goods, food, distribution, etc. “Thailand will continue to grow, raising the standard at the same time in many types of industry” (Mr. Sasaki MD). We will provide both rental and sales of pallet and logistics material which are necessary for its growth.

And also UPR Thailand proposes and provides logistics solutions such as tracking and control service used IoT technology. We try to understand the market needs and reflect that with our goods and services.

UPR ”General logistics material company” has changed from being a lumber-dealer

2019 is the 40th anniversary of the founding of UPR. The company previously was a lumber shop in Ube city, Yamaguchi prefecture. One day a customer asked “Is there any pallet like this?” “If it doesn’t exist, we will make it ourselves”. That was a starting point to provide various pallets.

We adopted the structure of rental for the customers who want to use only when needed. We are a “General logistics material company,” having changed from being a lumber-dealer. We noticed that we have been providing various goods and service supporting the logistics industry.

We started expanding overseas in 2011. We established local subsidiaries in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and also Vietnam in 2018. We will accelerate our business strategy in growing Asia in the future.

Request for Notification, Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use of Personal Information

In the case the Company receives request from the individual user regarding the disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, or erasure of personal information, stoppage of use by a third party or notification of use, after confirmation that the requester is the individual user, the Company will respond without delay in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act.

Note that in the case that the request does not meet the requirements stipulated by the Personal Data Protection Act, or the reason to reject such request is permitted by the Personal Data Protection Act or other laws and regulations, the request may not be fulfilled.

In addition, there is no payment required or fees associated with the request for disclosure by the individual user. However, the cost of communication from the individual user to the Company, transportation expenses, and expenses associated with the preparation of materials for the purposes of individual identification will be the responsibility of the individual user.
