Since the workpiece gets wet after the treatment, it is necessary to wipe off the moisture to prevent rust, which requires more work than the dry type, while the wet type has overwhelmingly higher treatment performance and a smoother finish.

Wet type is particularly suitable for so-called high-class cutting tools such as hobs and brooches. Compared to drills and end mills, these tools are bigger in size, have a larger diameter, and have a greater difference in unevenness, so the wet type has the spray reaching more thoroughly than the dry type, resulting in a cleaner surface.
