The portable measuring instrument RIONOTE

I'm Nakamura from Nihon Denkei (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a general trading company of measuring and testing machines.

This time I am going to introduce the multifunctional measurement system RIONOTE

It is an acoustic and vibration measuring instrument from a sound specialist Rion Co., Ltd. (head office: Kokubunji City, Tokyo)”, which was founded in 1944 and has been engaged in research and development of acoustic and vibration for nearly 70 years.

Sound/vibration measuring instruments are used for the purpose of reducing noise by analyzing the sound emitted such as from automobiles and air conditioners. Together with Mr. Masanori Kondo, Thai sales representative of Rion Co., Ltd., I will explain the features of RIONOTE

▲Mr. Masanori Kondo, Measuring Instruments Overseas Sales Section, Acoustic and Vibration Measuring Instruments Sales Department, Rion Co., Ltd.

He used to travel back and forth between Japan and Thailand every month for sales activities, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, he uses remote conference software on his PC to provide customer support. He joined Rion Co., Ltd. in 2013. In his private life, he is a member of the Rion Bicycle Club and won some bicycle competitions. The line-up behind him is Rion’s sound level meters in production (at its own factory)

The portable measuring instrument RIONOTE that can measure sound and vibration simultaneously, can be deployed from the laboratory to the field.

“For example, automobile manufacturers and suppliers that focus on the quietness of automobiles need to reduce the noise and vibration generated by various factors. To make better quality cars, it is necessary to measure acoustic and vibration. (Mr. Kondo)"

Noise reduction is also an important issue for air-conditioning equipment manufacturers, and noise control is done not only for finished products but also for parts such as compressors. Until now, noise and vibration analysis has generally been performed in a test room using large and heavy equipment with a PC, but with the advent of RIONOTE , it has become possible to measure noise and vibration easily in both indoors and outdoors.

【Features of RIONOTE

① Portable (tablet type / B5 size / 1.2 kg), that can be carried anywhere
② Even non-experts can operate it intuitively with a color LCD touch panel
③ Wireless connection (optional) eliminates the need for cables
④ Sound measurement and vibration measurement are possible with one unit

In particular, the wireless function ③ makes measurement very easy.

For example, it was difficult to route cables (wiring) around the engine of a car, and it required a lot of time-consuming preliminary work.

RIONOTE can measure remotely simply by installing a sensor and wireless unit on the car engine. In addition, multi-point measurement (up to 4 wireless docks) can be done at once.

▲ Data can be transmitted wirelessly to RIONOTE by attaching an amplifier to the wireless dock "SA-A1WD" (right).

▲ Example of a combination of RIONOTE , 3 amplifiers (wireless connection) and 1 amplifier (wired connection)

▲ Example of sound measurement combining RIONOTE and multiple SA-A1WD (1) Convenient for multi-point measurement, such as large machines

▲ Example of sound measurement combining RIONOTE and multiple SA-A1WD (2) Multi-point measurement from a distance also for bench testers etc.

In Thailand, Mr. Kondo of Rion Co., Ltd. and our staff work together to deliver Rion's acoustic and vibration measuring instruments to our customers. We also have a prompt and courteous after-sales service system.

In addition to RIONOTE we also handle sound level meters, vibration meters, acoustic measurement systems and prefabricated anechoic chambers. If you are looking for the above products in Thailand, please contact us.
