The NACHI-FUJIKOSHI Group is engaged in the manufacturing and sales of machine tools, robots, bearings and special steel. Above all, the manufacturing and sales of bearings, mainly for automotive bearings, is one of our important businesses. As the automotive industry shifts to the production of EVs, the demand for engines is declining and the market for the production of bearings for engines is also shrinking. In order to respond to the changes in the market, we have transferred the production bases for some of our products, which are known as standard products, from our factory in Japan to a factory in Thailand, and by improving the efficiency of production, we are working on a project to expand order-taking from businesses in the midst of the move by intensifying competition.

The significance of manufacturing high-precision bearings of NACHI-FUJIKOSHI quality in Thailand

Nachi Technology (Thailand) is currently in the process of expanding its Rayong Factory in Thailand, which manufactures various types of bearings. At the Rayong factory, we mainly manufacture special specification products for Japanese-affiliated manufacturers in ASEAN. In the future, we will shift some bearing productions such as standard and catalog products from Japan to the Thai factory. In order to compete against competitors worldwide, such as those from Europe, China, and Taiwan, we will promote the expansion of business orders by focusing on strengthening our quality and after-sales service.

At the Thai factory, more than 10 Japanese staff carry out strict quality control every day to maintain Japanese quality. We pride ourselves on the fact that the quality of NACHI-FUJIKOSHI does not change no matter where it is made in the world. Our idea is not "Made in Japan" but "Made by NACHI". Therefore, just because it is made by an overseas factory does not mean that it is cheap or bad. One of the strengths of Japanese-affiliated manufacturing companies is that they “keep their promises”. By manufacturing high-quality bearings locally, we believe that we can provide further benefits to customers who have built relationships of trust in Thailand and ASEAN for many years.

I was just transferred to Thailand in June 2021, and one thing I noticed when I started living in Thailand was the noise of home appliances such as air conditioners and washing machines. When I was living in Japan, I took it for granted that everything was quiet, but I was surprised to find out that even if it wasn't, it was still in normal use here. In the future, as the standard of living rises in many countries, it may become normal to demand quietness in home appliances as in Japan, or conversely, we may find that the other parts of the world do not demand such quietness. By always keeping abreast of the current situation, I feel that we can expand our business opportunities in that country.
